A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT

I celebrated by fifth anniversary at Prairie Trust in January. Personally, it has been the most gratifying years of my career as we have formed one of the most talented and dedicated wealth management teams, doubled our business, and enhanced our clients’ experience. Much of this is due to the great business relationships we have with you and our other referral partners.

2018 was another eventful year. Throughout the last thirteen months, we added three team members to our personal trust team: Matthew Woyak, Jean Durham, and Matthew Fischer. Matt Woyak focuses his time supporting Steve Zimmel and Michele Young, as well as managing our trust-owned real estate. Jean assists Diem Nguyen with our estate settlement projects and Matt Fischer helps Nancy Schoenberg with our special needs trusts. We welcome their knowledge, experience and support of our growing book of business.

In June, we held our first annual client event at the Oconomowoc Lake Club. Dueling Pianos entertained the crowd in the beautiful setting right on the lake. We had a great time interacting with our clients and business relationships in a non-work setting. Planning for this year’s event is currently underway!

After a tough 2017 tax year, we have made significant enhancements to our trust tax services. We are now working with Trust Processing Solutions out of Ohio and are experiencing a much improved tax solution. We look forward to having the majority of our 2018 returns completed by the end of March.

The year ended with us splitting Prairie Financial Group into two brands: Prairie Trust (trust and estate business) and Waukesha State Bank Wealth Management (retirement plan services, investment management and financial planning). We have received a lot of positive feedback on this change and look forward to the continued rollout in 2019. (Please see the Rebranding FAQs in the Resources section.)

Thank you for helping make 2018 another successful year for us. We appreciate the business you introduce us to and enjoy working with you and your clients. We are working on a number of strategic initiatives for 2019, and we look forward to reporting on them as the year unfolds.
